(Example: Scrolling on social media for an hour.)</li></ul>How to Start: Delete the bottom two categories immediately if your to-do list is overwhelming.

Your brain isn’t designed to multitask. Every time you switch between tasks, you lose focus. You might feel like you’re getting more done, but in reality, you’re just making more mistakes and draining your energy faster.How to Start: Use time-blocking to focus on one task at a time. You’ll finish faster, with fewer errors, and feel less mentally drained.

Your phone is stealing your time — one notification at a time.It’s hard to leave it when every vibration makes your heart race. But you have to control it. I’m not telling you to put it away all day, but at least for a few hours until you finish your most important tasks.<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Studies show that having your phone near you reduces your focus, even if you’re not using it.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Also, the average person checks their phone 144 times a day. So, how could you not lose focus?</li></ul>

How to Start: Work in 90-minute focus blocks with your phone in another room. I often act like I had to charge it up, and it works. Also, turn off non-essential notifications and set a few “no-screen” hours before bed to improve sleep and mental clarity.

We avoid overwhelming tasks because they intimidate us. That’s why procrastination kicks in — we think about the whole thing instead of just getting started.Break it down. Smash it into small, manageable pieces.

For example, if you need to write a newsletter:<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Outline the issue (15 min).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Draft the intro (15 min).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Write main points (30 min).</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Write the full article (1-2 hours).</li></ul>Smaller steps = less resistance = more progress. How to Start: Take a big task you avoided and split it into micro-steps. Then, schedule the first one today.

I don’t talk about AI often in this newsletter — but maybe I should.I see it everywhere. I use it daily. But I never let it take over decisions that define me. AI is a powerful tool, not a replacement for thinking.That said, it can help you save time on repetitive tasks.
